Oman: MoTC highlights its projects in Al Buraimi.Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al- Futaisi, minister of Transport and Communications (MoTC) held a meeting to present the Ministry’s ongoing and future projects in the Governorate of Al Buraimi, Oman.
The undersecretaries of the MoTC, and the CEO of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation reviewed the ongoing and future projects in Al Buraimi, in addition to Sohar Airport and Port.
The minister said that the ministry currently implements a number of development projects in the governorate, the most important of which is dualisation of Mahdha/Al Rawdha road (58.5 km) , the pavement of Al Abila-Al Fayyadh road (41 km), in addition to the dualisation of Wadi Saa Hafit road which will connect Sohar Port and the border check point with Saudi Arabia.
He also highlighted the study to give the taxi service to a private company. The project will be first impemented in Muscat and then will be rolled out to the various governorates after its success.
The railway project is still existent in coordination with the other GCC states, Al-Futaisi mentioned.
