MyHSR Issues Tender Notice for Appointment of HSR Project Reference Design Consultants :MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd of Malaysia issued a tender notice on 25 August 2016 for the appointment of Reference Design Consultants (RDC) for the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) Project. The tender notice states that the appointed RDCs are expected to provide consultancy services in areas of reference design for rail infrastructure components in Malaysia, interface management, stakeholder management, HSR project requirements and tender document preparation.

There are five RDC work packages:

Bandar Malaysia Station, Iskandar Puteri Station and all other civil infrastructure associated with their development including but not limited to the guideways containing the station throats, access roads, highway links and pedestrian links.

Putrajaya Station, Seremban Station, Ayer Keroh Station, Muar Station, Batu Pahat Station and all other civil infrastructure associated with their development including but not limited to access roads, highway links and pedestrian links.

All infrastructure (including but not limited to the guideway, earthworks, road realignments, access roads, emergency escape routes) required for the HSR from the southern end of Bandar Malaysia Station throat to the State border between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

All infrastructure (including but not limited to the guideway, earthworks, road realignments, access roads, emergency escape routes) required for the HSR from the State border between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan to the State border between Melaka and Johor.

All infrastructure (including but not limited to the guideway, earthworks, road realignments, access roads, emergency escape routes) required for the HSR from the State border between Melaka and Johor to the northern end of the station throat at Iskandar Puteri Station.

First conceived in 2013, the 350 km line is expected to reduce travel time between Singapore and the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to 90 minutes.

The project envisages the construction of a brand new rail line with dedicated tracks that will allow trains to travel at a maximum speed of 300 km/h.

The date for start of operations has been postponed from 2020 to 2026.
