Kelana Jaya LRT commuters can travel to Putra Heights now
Kelana Jaya LRT commuters can travel to Putra Heights now :Commuters from KL to Putra Heights however, may have to disembark at the Ara Damansara station during peak hours, pending the deployment of more trains early next year.
Commuters of the Kelana Jaya LRT line will be able to travel from Gombak to Putra Heights from today.
This was made possible by the opening of the LRT Line Extension, set to be launched by Prime Minister Najib Razak today.
Prasarana in a statement yesterday said the Kelana Jaya Line trains would however, alternately make a turnaround at the Ara Damansara station during the morning and evening peak hours, pending the deployment of the new Kuala Lumpur Additional Vehicle (KLAV) trains in January 2017.
âCommuters from the Kuala Lumpur city centre heading towards Putra Heights may need to disembark at the Ara Damansara Station to continue with their journey, depending on the trip that they are travelling on.
âWe seek the support and understanding of our customers to bear with this temporary inconvenience until the new KLAV trains are deployed,â said Rapid Rail Sdn Bhdâs CEO, Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin.
He added signage would be put up and announcements made at platforms and onboard trains, to guide passengers.
Ahmad Nizam said temporarily, trains travelling between Ara Damansara and Gombak would maintain a headway or waiting time of approximately three minutes.
The KLAV trains costing about RM577 million, consist of a total of 14 four-car trains called Bombardier INNOVIA Metro 300, adding to its current line-up to accommodate up to 220 passengers per car and thus, reduce waiting time.
