Bombardier Delivered First EMUs to Brisbane

Bombardier Delivered First EMUs to Brisbane: The first of new 75 six-car EMUs which Bombardier produced for Australian Railways delivered to Brisbane, Australia on 16 February. Trains will be use south-east Queensland commuter rail service.

The trains are the part of a $3,1 bn contract. The contract also includes upgrade of South east Queensland’s network, a new maintanence depot at Wulkuraka and a 30 year maintenance for the trains.

The new trains will replace with the 30 year-old EMUs. 1067 mm gauge trains have maximum 140 km/h speed and 454 seats. The first train will enter service in the second half of 2016.
