Norway Inıtiated New Tenders For Country’s Rail Roads: Norway’s Ministry of Transport and Communications initiated two tenders on February 4. The tender includes for operation of passenger services on the national network, a key component of plans to liberalise the sector, which were unveiled by the government last year.

The tender consist of two main parts. Part 1 is covers south services which line is from Oslo to Drammen, Arendal, Egersund and Stavanger in the south of the country. Part 2 covers the Oslo – Lillehammer – Trondheim, Trondheim – Mo i Rana – Bodø, Trondheim – Hell – Storlien, Dombås – Åndalsnes, and Trondheim – Røros – Hamar lines.

The Part 1 tender will be awarded in August 2017 and the other part will be awarded by December 2017. Both contracts will start in December 2018.
