Rapid Metro Gurgaon New Trains Arrive :Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon Limited (RMGL) officials stated on 30 November 2015 that seven new 3-car trains will be added to the current fleet. Three have been delivered and the remaining four are expected to arrive in the coming months. The trains are manufactured by Siemens and are similar to the existing ones.

Rapid Metro, India’s first fully privately financed Metro system, connects NH-8 to Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line at Sikandarpur via Cyber City, Gurgaon.

Rapid Metro’s Phase-II, known as the South extension, is planned to start by October 2016, with a 7 km double track taking it into the heart of new Gurgaon. Five new stations with parking facilities will be opened at DLF Phase-I, Sushant Lok, Sector 53-54, AIT Chowk and Sector 55-56. According to RMGL Managing Director and IL&FS Rail CEO, Rajiv Banga, “the work on South Extension is in full swing”.

Rapid Metro currently covers a loop of 5.1 km and stops at six elevated stations: Sikanderpur, DLF Phase 2, Vodafone Belvedere Towers, Indusind Bank Cyber City, Micromax Moulsari Avenue and Phase 3.
