New NYC No. 7 Subway Station Opens on Manhattan’s West Side

New NYC No. 7 Subway Station Opens on Manhattan’s West Side :Beginning Sunday, September 13, residents and businesses of Manhattan’s far west side will have access to No. 7 train at 34th Street & 11th Avenue Station. The new subway station opening will serve as many as 35,000 riders during rush-hour following almost eight years of construction.

The No. 7 train will access Hudson Yards and High Line neighborhoods. The MTA anticipates this station will become one of the busiest stations in the subway system. It is the only station with access beyond Ninth Avenue below 59th Street, and the NO. 7 train connects to 18 other subway lines.

The extension project cost $2.42 billion. The 34th St-Hudson Yard Station was originally set to open in December 2013, though the MTA delayed opening to address to escalator and safety issues.
