Embeded Rails of Madrid Atocha Station had been renewed by edilon)(sedra :edilon)(sedra recently renovated part of the rail track in Platform 5 of the railway station Madrid-Puerta de Atocha. Since the construction in 1992 the ERS-track (Embedded Rail System) did not require any maintenance.

After more than 20 years in operation the rail track – located in a tight curve causing extreme wear and tear to the rail – needed to be renovated. It is the first phase of renovating the station tracks starting with Platform 5 of Madrid-Puerta de Atocha. The total track renovation was completed in a short Sunday shift.

Maintenance-free system
The old station ‘Estación de Atocha’ (now called ‘Estación de Madrid-Puerta de Atocha’) is one of the most beautiful architectural complexes in Madrid. The first high-speed line in Spain was built in 1992 by edilon)(sedra and connected the cities of Seville and Madrid.
