Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Creţu said: “I am glad to have adopted these projects; they will contribute to a better connectivity in the country, to a faster and safer mobility, while linking the Czech Republic to EU-wide transport networks”.

One of the project, the modernization of the railway line Tábor–Sudoměřice u Tábora, is part of the planned upgrading of the whole national Czech railway, from Prague to Horní Dvorište at the Austrian border (Transit corridor IV), which is part of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The modernization will allow trains to reach speeds of up to 160km/h – EU contribution: almost €46.5 million
