Discover Thales at Eurasia Rail 2015

Discover Thales at Eurasia Rail 2015 :In its fifth year, Eurasia Rail 2015 will give national and international
firms the opportunity to demonstrate their railway infrastructure solutions and technologies.

Providing a full spectrum of state-of-the-art solutions, Thales deploys critical, IT-based systems for main line and urban transport, comprising signalling, supervision, communications, security, passenger information and fare collection solutions. Thales is pleased to showcase its achievements and technological expertises, namely its vast experience on the Eurasian continent.

A global signaling standard for main lines – ETCS

European Train Control System (ECTS) is the core signalling and train control component of ERTMS, the European Rail Traffic Managemen System for mainline networks. With its AlTrac ETCS solution, Thales is a worldwide leader in main line signalling. The ETCS standard is gaining global traction due to its success on the European continent. Specifically, Thales’s successful presence in Eurasia is exemplified in deploying ETCS solution for the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed line. Currently, Thales is upgrading 250 km of this main rail artery. When these upgrades will be completed, travel time from Ankara to Istanbul will be cut from 7 to 2,5 hours!

Making cities run smoother, faster – CBTC

Created to enable interoperable operations throughout Europe, ETCS facilitated the creation of intra-European rail corridors. Notably, Thales has supplied and integrated the ETCS solution of 70% of Spain’s high speed network, covering 1 300 km of track – making it the largest high speed network in Europe.

With over 60 CTBC projects in more than 30 major cities worldwide, used by 3 billion passengers every year, SelTrac® CBTC is the world’s most widely adopted and trusted system. Thales has equipped the Kadıköy-Kartal metro line in Istanbul, with its reliable technology. To the East, in Azerbaijan, Thales will equip Baku’s Purple metro line with
an integrated solution, comprising security and telecommunications. Notably, the world’s longest driverless metro network in operation, located in Dubai, is wholly equipped with a Thales integrated solution including CBTC, supervision, communications, security and fare collection.

An alternative to the underground – Tramways

As urban centers swell and develop, inhabitants require a transport system that is as flexible as their lives. Thus, Thales offers solutions for Rail Transit (LRT) networks, an effective compromise in terms of investment capacity, function, pollution reduction and aesthetic design.Cutting-edge Thales LRT solutions optimise daily operations and
maintenance activities as well as ensure quality of service.

Thales guarantees a smooth and secure travel experience. Best of all, Thales’s advanced systems are compatible with all rolling stock suppliers and interface with all third-party systems.
