Silkroad Photograph Exhibition in Berlin

Silkroad Photograph Exhibition in Berlin :The “Steel Silkroad Photograph Exhibition” is opened in Berlin, the Capital city of Germany. There was a quite high number of visitors, both Turkish and German, in the exhibition opened in Hamburger Station Museum of Berlin, Germany’s capital, which is one of the projects within the scope of “Eskişehir Railway Culture Project.”

In the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Güngör Azim Tuna, Governor of Eskişehir, explained to the journalists the honor he felt with the exhibition and continued as follows.

“ Throughout the history Eskişehir has hosted various civilizations. Starting in 19th century it has been a crossroad for various railways. Having this establishment in our city in 1892 has left deep memories than just having a train making an ordinary visit to a city. The rails have brought countries and people closer by reducing the travel time and have contributed considerably in bonding people by facilitating cultural communication.”

Mr. Tuna drew attention to the fact that the rails laid 125 years ago between İstanbul and Ankara and between Konya and Eskişehir now serve for operation of high speed train, making a 125 year old dream come true.

Mr. Tuna explained that this photograph exhibition displays the railway culture history of both the Ottoman Empire and Modern Turkey.

A total of 42 photographs are displayed in this exhibition which will be open until evening tomorrow. The Steel Silkroad Photograph Exhibition will be reopened in “Berlin Turkish House” on 13th May and stay open until 10th June.
