RTA takes part in InnoTrans conference

RTA takes part in InnoTrans conference :Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), is heading RTA’s delegation taking part in the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans 2014) hosted by the German capital Berlin during the period Sept 23-26, featuring participation of 2700 companies from 51 countries. Al Tayer will be the keynote speaker in the Rail Leaders’ Summit which will be attended by elite presidents of firms, businessmen and representatives of specialist firms in the transport industry as well as gurus of mass transport systems from all over the globe.

Al Tayer will be accompanied by a delegation comprising RTA Board Member Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, CEO of RTA Rail Agency Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, and a host of concerned directors.

Al Tayer states that the congress and the international trade fair for transport technology, which is held biennially, is particularly important as it sets a platform for transport and rail industry specialists to gather and showcase the latest technologies in the infrastructure of rail and tunnel networks, interior designs of trains, entertainment systems, and public transport buses. The previous edition of the Fair, which was held in 2012, attracted the participation of 2515 firms from 49 countries, and more than 120 thousand visitors hailing from 140 countries.

“Through taking part and interacting with this showpiece, we are seeking to review the latest technological trends of the rail industry, familiarise with the best international expertise and practices adopted in constructing, operating and maintaining various public transit systems and means, security and safety procedures of the metro networks, and quality services delivered to riders. Besides that we will attend the congress which will discuss a variety of topics such as the international specifications of the rail infrastructure, train manufacturing, methods of financing mass transit modes, security and safety procedures of the metro networks, and quality services delivered to riders. The Fair will offer a splendid opportunity for acquaintance with manufacturers of trains and various transit modes, and communication with international experts of rail transport in particular, and transportation in general.

The RTA will have a grand stand to spotlight intriguing details about the specialist and comprehensive nature of public transport systems in the Emirate of Dubai, and depict the growth of public transport in the emirate covering the evolution and path of mass transit systems which currently comprise the Dubai Metro, a modern fleet of public buses and taxis, and a wide range of marine transit modes.
