Joint venture formed to bid for Oman railway project :Sarooj Construction Company, an A grade ‘excellent’ local company, who have built large challenging projects, has entered into a joint venture with three other multinational companies to prepare for the forthcoming tender for segment 1 of the prestigious Oman Railway Project.

The four companies have agreed to participate together for the bid. These companies include the Austrian company PORR, a globally recognised authority in the construction of railway and infrastructure projects, Daewoo Engineering and Construction, a reputed Korean company operating in the region, who have built the dry docks in Duqm and the 2000MW power station in Sur, Yüksel, a Turkish company with strong presence in the Middle East Region who have been awarded multi-million Omani Rials projects by the Tender Board and Sarooj Construction Company.

These companies complement each other in every aspect of the business making the joint venture a strong contender for securing the contract. The consortium of the companies have chosen the acronym SPYD for the joint venture as it comprises the first letter of the four companies’ names.

The JV agreement was signed in the joint venture leader’s office, PORR in Muscat. Top managers and staff of the four partners attended the signing ceremony.
