Gülermak is prequalified for the Follo Line tunnel works in Oslo :Companies from all over Europe and Asia participated in the pre-qualification to build the tunnel for the new Follo Line between Oslo and Ski. Now the Norwegian National Rail Administration has selected the most qualified companies to compete for two of four EPC contracts.

The project administration has evaluated the companies and joint ventures.

The Project management in the Follo Line Project is very pleased with the quality of the companies now pre-qualified for the competition for the project’s tunneling work. Tunnel work is divided into two major contracts, one for drilling with four tunnel boring machines (TBM) and one for conventional Drill & Blast.

Interest from many country
– The response from both national and international companies for the two contracts has been most satisfactory. The number of applications, as well as the quality, confirms that the selected contract strategy for the project is in line with both available capacity and competence in the market, says Erik Smith, Project Director in the Follo Line Project.

The following six joint ventures will be invited to tender for the EPC TBM contract:

Gülermak-Samsung-Pizzarotti (Turkey – Korea – Italy)
Implenia Norge, Hochtief Solution and Dragodos (Norway – Germany – Spain)
NCC Construction, Vinci Construction Grands Projects and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau (Norway – France – Germany)
Obrascon Hauarte Lain, SK Engineering and Construction (Spain – Korea)
Skanska Norge and Strabag (Norway – Austria)

The following joint ventures will be invited to tender for the EPC D&B contract:

JV Implenia Norge, Hochtief Solution and Dragados (Norway – Germany – Spain)
JV Skanska Norge and Strabag (Norway – Austria)
JV SALINI, IMPREGILO and CSC Impresa Costruzioni (Italy – Italy – Switzerland)

and the following companies:

AF gruppen Norge (Norway)
Obrascon Huarte Lain (Italy)
Società italiana per condotte d’acqua (Italy)

Background
The Follo Line represents the innermost part of the InterCity development south of Oslo. Most of the work on the railway shall be advertised in the market. In addition, the National Rail Administration’s expertise will be used and the Railway Administration’s role as builder will be strengthened.

There will be a total of four major EPC contracts or turnkey contracts for the Follo Line Project: One contract that includes the introduction of the new path to Oslo Central S, two contracts for tunneling (TBM and D&B) and a contract for the open section Langhus–Ski, including the new Ski train station.
