Businessmen from South Korea are visiting North Korea for a Railway Project :In a statement made from the Ministry of Unification of South Korea, it is announced that a group of 38 South Korean will visit North Korea for logistic feasibility studies to be conducted in the city of Rajin on the border between North Korea and Russia, regarding the connection of the Rusian Trans-Sİbir Railway with the North Korea Railway.

It is declared that besides some official government workers, representatives from the South Korea State Railway Operator (KORAIL), steel manufacturer POSCO and ship manufacturer Hyundai Merchant Marine will be in this group of 38 people.

It is known that the construction works of the 54 km section on the Russian Territory of Russia’s Trans-Sibir line that will connect Russia to North Korea are completed. 30 percent of the shares of this project belongs to North Korea and the remaining to Russia.

It is indicated that in North Korea, the official group from South Korea will meet representatives from Russia and will propose to purchase 50% of the shares of Russia.

It is known that the referred project was proposed by South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye and this project is related to the Eurasia Initiative, which is expected to have a positive impact in commerce with Eurasian countries.
