Alstom withdraws from Casablanca LRT contract

Alstom withdraws from Casablanca LRT contract :Alstom has announced that they have pulled out from the contract they have entered with Casa Tram, to maintain the light rail network in Casablanca.

Casa Tram is a consortium consisting of RATP Dev, Moroccan Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) and holding company Transinvest. The Consortium was awarded in July 2012 with a five year contract worth € 90m. Contract involved the operation and maintenance of 30.7 km long Light Rail System Line 1 from Ennassim to Ain Diab and Facultés.

Alstom has supplied that roling stock, electrification and signalling of the line and was awarded with the maintenance of the line by Casa Tram. Alstom has announced that, due to certain unresolved contractual issues they have pulled off from the contract.
