Alstom to supply and replace 175 bogie frames for Melbourne’s Comeng suburban rail fleet in Australia :Alstom has been awarded a contract by Public Transport Victoria (PTV) to supply 175 bogie frames for part of the fleet of Comeng trains, operating on the Melbourne suburban rail network.

The new frames will replace the ones of the existing bogies originally manufactured by Commonwealth Engineering between 1981 and 1988. Engineering of the new frames will take place in Q1 2014 with production due to commence in Q4 2014 to achieve the critical milestone of first delivery in Q1 2015. The last frames are expected to be delivered in early 2016.

82 X’Trapolis suburban trains have been ordered from Alstom by Public Transport Victoria since 2002.
