Strukton wins order for maintenance of 680 kilometres of track in Sweden: Strukton Rail has received an order from the Swedish Transport Administration, Trafikverket, for the maintenance of 680 kilometres of track of the northern part of the so-called Södra stambanan (Southern Main Line). This is the key rail link between Stockholm and Malmö and the main connection from the north of Sweden to the rest of Europe.The contract starts on 1 May 2014 for a period of five years, with the option of a two-year extension. The contract value is € 80 million.

Strukton Rail is already responsible for the maintenance of the southern part of the Södra stambanan,which consists of 430 kilometres of track. The two contracts cover the maintenance of the entire Södra stambanan, one of the busiest rail lines in Sweden.

We’re already responsible for maintenance work on this line, but this new contract means we’ll be responsible for an even larger area, with more maintenance tasks.
