Strukton delivers electrical systems for Sao Paulo monorail line :Strukton Rolling Stock delivers traction inverters, auxiliary inverters and battery chargers for the new line 17 monorail of Sao Paulo. Strukton’s equipment is installed in the monorail vehicles of Scomi Rail, one of the world’s leading monorail manufacturers. Sao Paulo line 17 is being built by a consortium comprising of Grupo MPE, Andrade Gutierrez, CR Almeida and Scomi Rail. The line will be operated by Metro Sao Paulo (Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo).

The power electronic equipment consists to a large extent of Strukton’s ultra-lightweight power modules which are applied in several other lightrail projects, most notably in the new monorail vehicles of Kuala Lumpur, metro Toulouse and metro Amsterdam. Scomi Rail has experienced the benefit of Strukton’s equipment and has this time also included the auxiliary power supply equipment in the order. Delivery for the first set of 14 trains will commence in the first half of 2014.
