ST Electronics wins S$151m of orders in Q1

ST Electronics wins S$151m of orders in Q1 : The electronics arm of Singapore Technologies (ST) Engineering clinched contracts worth about S$151 million in the first quarter of the year, the diversified defense and engineering contractor said Thursday.

ST Electronics’ new-orders book includes S$65 million of contracts in the rail electronics and intelligent transportation segment, where the business secured mass rapid transit jobs in Malaysia, Taiwan and the United States. Those projects are expected to be completed between July 2014 and 2020.

In the satellite communications and sensors segment, ST Electronics secured contracts worth about S$78 million in the first quarter for a variety of customers worldwide.

ST Electronics was also able to add S$8 million of business in the smart utilities segment, where the company will be implementing and supporting a customer information system as well as an advanced metering infrastructure solution.
