Skanska wins construction of Hovik Station contract in Norway

Skanska Norway, an arm of the Swedish construction company Skanska AB, and Jernbaneverket Utbygging have secured a in Bærum, Norway.

Pursuant to the contract, Skanska Norway will construct more than 1km of railway, drainage and water systems, new platforms, technical units and upgrade of an existing road bridge.

The construction work on the project is scheduled to commence in April 2013 and is expected to be completed in May 2015. The estimated value of the project is NOK282 million ($48.32 million). Skanska Norway will book the order in its first quarter of 2013.

Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The company has reported revenue of SEK12.5 billion ($2.14 million). In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
