Moscow metro opens new Pyatnitskoe Shosse station

The Moscow metro plans to open yet another new station by the end of 2012, Pyatnitskoe Shosse is to open on December 28 in the city’s northwestern district, the capital’s construction company announced on its website on Tuesday.

Construction of the new station began in July 2011, and in the period of 18 months 1,700 workers were able to bring Moscow a new subway station.

The new station’s interior is decorated with natural black and white stone.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has set forth plans to open seven more subway stations in 2013, adding 14 kilometers of rail lines.
