International railway competition results in Moscow on 24 May

Results of the railway competition between Belarusian Railways, Moscow Railways (a branch of OAO Russian Railways) and Southwestern Railways (Ukraine) will be summed up at an international meeting in Moscow on 24 May, the press service of Belarusian Railways told BelTA.

Chairman of the Directorate of the CIS Railway Transport Council Piotr Kucherenko and the heads of the three railway administrations are expected to participate in the event. At the meeting results of the competition using year 2012 performance data will be summarized, winners will be awarded, and the enhancement of business and cultural ties between the railway administrations of the neighboring countries will be discussed.

BelTA has been told that the decision to arrange the competition was made in 2005. The decision was a logical continuation of the policy pursued by the CIS Railway Transport Council for the sake of advancing cooperation at the level of railway administrations and industrial collectives, said the source.

To win the competition, a collective has to ensure the technological and financial stability of the railway operation, satisfy the demand of individuals and corporations for railway transportation, attract additional volumes, raise the quality and quantity of services, ensure safe railway travels.
