Ansaldo STS wins 40-mln-euro order in Algeria

Italy’s rail technology group Ansaldo STS announced Wednesday that it had won new contracts in Algeria and France.

The contract in Algeria is worth 40 million euros and covers the design, supply, installation and implementation of ERMTS signalling systems for the new, 130-km cargo and passenger rail line linking Oued Tlelat and Tlemcen in north-western Algeria.

The contract was awarded by the Condotte d’Acqua-Rizzani de Eccher consortium. The 13-million-euro contract in France, with an optional additional 4.9 mliion, is coming on the heels of the 2011 contract with Cofely Ineo (GdF Suez Group), in partnership with Systra, for the entire signalling system of the new high-speed S.E.A. rail link between Bordeaux and Tours.
