Ankara-Izmir High Speed Train Project was launched :When the railway network with a length of 270 km will be finished, the distance between Ankara and Izmir cities will decrease from 14 hours to 3,5 hours.

The groundbreaking of Ankara-Izmir High Speed Train Project took place in Afyonkarahisar. At the ceremony held in Afyonkarahisar were present Binali Yildirim, The Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication and Veysel Eroglu, the Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs. Together with the opening of the high speed train line with a length of 270 km and provided with high technology, the distance between Ankara and Afyonkarahisar will decrease to 1,5 hours and the distance from Afyonkarahisar to Izmir to 2 hours. The Minister Yildirim outlined that the project of the railway with a length of 624 km has a worth of 4 billion of Turkish Lira, meanwhile the worth of the 287 km of railway between Ankara and Afyonkarahisar will be 700 million of Turkish Lira.
7 PROJECTS LAUNCHED TOGETHER
At the ceremony in Afyonkarahisar the minister Yildirim together with the minister Eroglu has announced that 7 other projects in different cities are about to be launched, among them Tekirdağ, Çankırı, Sivas, Malatya, Adana, etc.
