Russia launches complex projects for the construction of terminals and logistic centres

Russian Railways is developing the Concept of creation of terminal and logistic centres in Russia.
According to the draft concept, 18 terminals will be built to handle and store cargoes. The total capacity of the terminals will be 210 million tonnes per annum.

The biggest warehouses will be located on railway accesses to sea ports and their total capacity will reach 55.9 million tonnes per annum. Three regions have been identified for the construction of these terminals: the Far East, Krasnodar region and Leningrad region. Investments into dry ports construction will amount to RUR 124.8 Billion (EUR 3.2 Billion).

The concept envisages construction of smaller terminals (with the capacity of 10-8.9 million tonnes per annum each) in Bryansk, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, and other cities.

RZD is going to attract investors to the projects of terminals construction. They will acquire shares in the capital of the companies engaged in terminal construction and rent of warehouses to railway operators later.
