Port Seeks Bidders To Upgrade Coos Bay Rail Line

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay is seeking bids for the next phase of reconstruction work on the Coos Bay Rail Link.

The work planned for this phase includes replacement of as many as 90,000 railroad ties and 60,000 tons of ballast, as well as improvements to crossing surfaces and rail alignments. The port said this is the largest reconstruction phase to date.

The port district purchased the 134-mile Coos Bay rail line in 2009. The railroad is operated by ARG Trans as the Coos Bay Rail Link.
