PKP PLK could lose EU funds

Polish railway infrastructure manager, PKP PLK, is struggling to find a way to use its European Union funds and now risks having the funding slashed, “Puls Biznesu” newspaper writes.

In the worst-case scenario PKP could lose out on as much as EUR 1.8 Billion in funds from a total of EUR 5 Billion. More optimistic analysts estimate PKP will miss out on EUR 400 Million.

The Ministry of Regional Development found that the firm had already lost out on some EUR 90 Million in funds which have gone to other infrastructure sectors.
