Moscow: Contract for tram delivery tendered again

The country’s antitrust watchdog has ordered a new tender for City Hall’s USD 300 Million (EUR 240 Million) tram contract, a move that could allow more foreign bidders to participate. The contract concerns the delivery of 120 fast trams.

The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service ruled the tender’s requirements were incomplete and ordered the city to update them. The terms lacked details that have a substantial effect on the price and quality, the Anti-Monopoly Service said.

The two companies which had tendered for this contract are TramRus (Alstom and Transmashholding’s subsidiary) and Kirov Ust-Katavsky Railcar Plant.
