Kazakhstan and Hungary strengthen cooperation in railway transport

Within the official visit of Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban to the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 3-4, 2012, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the railway state-owned company, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and MAV, Hungary’s railway company.

The agreement stipulates the increase of the turnover of the two companies in the export and import services and development of transport on Asia-Europa transcontinental routes. The parties plan to co-work in transport-logistics and construction projects and infrastructure development and modernisation. The two companies want to use Kazakhstan and Hungary’s transit potential to increase the freight volume circulated on the international transport corridors.
