Iran and Turkmenistan interested in bilateral railway projects

At a meeting of Iranian delegates and representatives of Foreign Affairs Ministry in Turkmenistan the parties have underlined the importance of consolidating and extending economic and political relations between the two countries.

For economic development, the officials have highlighted the importance of setting partnerships in energy, transport and communications.

It is important for the two countries to consolidate relationships, as there are major projects for the construction of pipelines, railway infrastructures between the countries, such as Tejan-Sarakhs-Mashad line and one of the most complex project, the development of North-South line, together with Kazakhstan. The creditors for the implementation of works are the Asian Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
