EU approves Greek-Bulgarian international project

EU has approved an international railway project connecting four bridges:  Kavala and Alexandroupolis in Grecia and Varna and Burgas in Bulgaria.

The maritime part of the transport corridor that will link the Aegian and the Black Seas includes the connections between the two Greek ports, then follows the rail link between Bourgas and Varna and further on to Rousse on the border with Romania.

The feasibility study on funding from the EU is expected to absorb EUR 2.5 Million and is due to start in September 2012.
