Dutch infrastructure manager ProRail inaugurates Hanze line: The EUR 1.13 billion Hanze railway line between Lelystad and Zwolle in the Netherlands has been opened and services began with yesterday’s timetable change (9 December). Thanks to the 50 km long Hanze line rail services between The Hague, Amsterdam and the northern cities of Leeuwarden and Groningen can be reorganised and they will be operated with two intercity and two stopping trains per hour and one path per hour for freight. It is forecast that the annual freight traffic will reach 4.2 million t.
