China approves new rail freight transport line

Chinese authorities have approved the construction of Ordos line (independent province of Inland Mongolia) -Ji’an (southern province of Jiangxi) for the transport of coal.

The Government has also adopted a new financing formula according to which local partners will cover half of the funds needed for investments and the rest of the amount will come from bank credits. Seven provinces crosses by the line will set up a company to build and manage the line.

The 1,837-km long line has an initial capacity of 100 million tonnes per year that could double to meet the demand of energy supply stations in the centre and the south of the country.
