Alstom to consolidate railway maintenance services in Germany

Alstom Transport’s division of the French group Alstom wants to consolidate its position in the German rolling stock maintenance market.

“We envisage a potential turnover for us of over EUR 100 Million per year”, in the train maintenance services in Germany, said Alf Henryk Wulf, the head of Alstom Germany for “Financial Times Deutschland”.

“Railway companies no longer see train maintenance as their responsibility. I don’t necessarily refer to Deutsche Bahn, but to other operators”, explained Alf Henryk Wulf, referring to private operators of regional trains, such as Veolia.

According to AFP, Alstom is already making an annual turnover of EUR 600 Million in the German railway sector.
