A railway line of over 1,500 km will be built starting with 2014 to connect Tanzania and Rwanda via Burundi. The project is estimated at USD 5 Billion (EUR 3.8 Billion). By the end of 2013, all project requirements will be met and construction works will be initiated in the first half of 2014, said the General Manager of Rwanda Transport Agency, after an advisory meeting between the ministers of transport in the three countries. The line will connect Dar es Salaam Port (Tanzania) and Kigali (Rwanda), via the dry port of Isaka.
